IndiGo bags the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Award 2009 India‚ 27th Oct‚ 2009: IndiGo‚ the award-winning low-fare airline that is redefining the airline business in India‚ bagged the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Award 2009 in the category of Aviation. The award was presented to IndiGo by the honorable Finance Minister‚ Mr. Pranab Mukherjee at a formal event on the evening of October 27‚ 2009 at Taj Lands Ends‚ Mumbai. The prestigious jury at the event recognized and honored the organizations and Business leaders who have played a significant role in shaping the Indian Economy. The objective of the awards was to salute the leaders who fuel India’s journey to the forefront of the World Economy in an ethical manner. On receiving the award‚ Aditya Ghosh‚ President IndiGo said‚ “To us‚ this honor is a true recognition of how we are evolving‚ maturing and redefining the airline business in India. The judging process was divided into 6 stages such as: Finalization of verticals‚ Collation of Nomination Universe‚ Filter Nominees – rank short listed entities‚ Questionnaire Rollout‚ Nomination Process Review & Jury Meeting Preparation and Evaluation by Jury . In the final stage a renowned jury debated over the nominees companies and identified the winners. Along with the NDTV Profit team‚ the business process advisors decided on the final list of award verticals across domains. The basis of deciding the verticals was to give sufficient representation of high growth industries forming a significant part of India’s GDP. A total of around 800 companies were screened and IndiGo was shortlisted as a nominee in the category of aviation.
