National, June 16, 2015: IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing airline, has once again been named as the Best Low Cost Airline in Central Asia and India at the 51stSKYTRAX World Airline Awards at the International Paris Air Show. The award ceremony was held at Le Bourget, Paris inside the Musee de lai’r et de léspace, one of the oldest aviation museums in the world which exhibits 150 aircraft. This is the sixth consecutive year that the award has been bestowed on IndiGo. Mr. Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo and Mr Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer received the award from Mr Edward Plaisted, Chairman of Skytrax at the grand ceremony.
Furthermore, IndiGo was also nominated for the Best Low Cost Airline in Asia Best Airline in India & Central Asia and Best Airline Staff in India & Central Asia , at the awards ceremony. The survey was conducted online between July 2014 and May 2015, during which time over 18 million customer surveys were completed, across a range of survey topics - for Airline of the Year, together with different regional and category Best Airline Awards, across 14 different Survey Form entry options. The Survey covers full-service and low-cost airlines. The Awards are a primary benchmarking tool for Passenger Satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world, delivering a unique survey format based on analysis of business and leisure travelers, across all cabin travel types (First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy class passengers). More than 100 different nationalities participated in the customer satisfaction survey, which covered over 200 airlines, from the largest international airlines to smaller domestic carriers.
Air travelers completed an online survey questionnaire about their experience with airlines on the ground and onboard, during a 10-month period. The survey measured passenger satisfaction across 41 key performance indicators of airline front-line product and service - including check-in, boarding, onboard seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, inflight entertainment and staff service.
In the 2015 Award results, over 210 airlines and 395 airports across the globe were voted for by air travellers, underlining the established reputation as the worlds largest passenger studies. The World Airline Awards are recognised around the world, and renowned as the only global, independent passenger survey of airline standards.
