Toulouse, France, July 28, 2006: IndiGo, a subsidiary of InterGlobe Enterprises, today took delivery of its first brand new Airbus A320 aircraft at a special delivery ceremony organized at the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France. Speaking to media persons shortly after taking delivery of the aircraft, Mr. Bruce Ashby, President and CEO, IndiGo, said, At IndiGo, we have ordered 100 brand-new Airbus A320 family aircraft, equipped with the best features money can buy, and added to that the best hardware, software, interface design & personnel from around the world. The IndiGo team used all of these resources to design processes and rules that are safe and simple and that make sense, at fares that are always affordable. Commenting on the choice of single type of aircraft, IndiGo’s secret for staying affordable is to focus on doing one thing, and doing it well. That's why we have ordered one type of airplane brand-new Airbus A320s; serving one type of route intra-India, with one type of fare affordable, and one type of service honest and professional. IndiGo is our largest customer in India, and we look forward to the airlines successful expansion with our aircraft, said Christian Streiff, Airbus President and CEO. India is a very important market for Airbus and with the low-cost model gaining popularity, airlines like IndiGo are set to revolutionise the growth in air travel in the region he added. In addition to the first aircraft being introduced in July 2006, IndiGo will introduce a new A320-232 aircraft every month during the remainder of 2006, and nine more aircraft in 2007. By December 2007, IndiGo's fleet will comprise of a total of 15 aircraft.
