InterGlobe Enterprises has been yet again voted as one of "Indias Best Companies to Work for" for the year 2010 in a study done by Great Places to Work ® Institute in partnership with The Economic Times. This is a hat trick for InterGlobe. It has also been ranked as No. 1 in the Transportation Industry.
This study looked at a workplace from 2 lenses - Trust Index ® and Culture Audit ®. Trust Index is a questionnaire for employees, containing 60 statements & 2 open-ended questions, takes about 15 minutes to complete & carries 2/3rd weightage. This questionnaire is administered, preferably online, to a randomly chosen set of employees. Culture Audit has two questionnaires for the Management, seeking both qualitative and quantitative data. While the quantitative data is used to study emerging trends, the qualitative data is analysed using a structured process & carries 1/3rd weightage
Expressing his delight at achieving this feat, Mr Harish Gandhi, Group Head of Human Resources, InterGlobe said, "Employees are the hallmark of our ecosystem at InterGlobe, and we believe in providing them a truly world-class place to work. This recognition is a definite milestone in our corporate journey, and recognizes the company as an Employer of Choice". Mr. Kapil Bhatia, Chairman of InterGlobe said, "I gratefully acknowledge and thank each one of my colleagues for their unique contribution in achieving this success. The Survey results for this year indicate the growing trust and faith that our employees place in our time-tested organizational values of integrity, trust, relationships, dedicated perseverance and also associating special meaning to work and treating it as more than just a job."
In fact, IndiGo which constitutes close to half of InterGlobes workforce, constantly works towards developing employee growth opportunities that make the profession of flying a fruitful and satisfying one for all those who are associated with the airline. IndiGo follows open door policies and a transparent system that allows them to voice their concerns directly and without fear of retribution. The low-cost carrier also has several employee oriented programmes – including flexible working hours, the employee assistance programme for flight attendants, employee townhalls, a well-established performance management system, leadership training and other ongoing training modules – that are designed to enable employees to grow not only as airline professionals, but as individuals.
Visibly delighted, Mr. Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo (who is also a member of InterGlobes Executive Committee) said "This has to be our favourite award because the voice of the employees is the only thing that matters here. There are some great companies here and to be included in this exclusive club is an honour in itself. At IndiGo, our constant endeavour is to create an environment where everyone can push their limits, explore their boundaries and feel good about what they are doing. The big success is when each one of us feels that its been well worth our while and we all have a irreplaceable role in making this incredible dream come true!" Ghosh added, "I feel privileged and lucky to be able to work with such a fantastic set of colleagues at IndiGo!"
